Stupid stupid stupid

This is incredible. The check is 3 weeks due, she’s still “looking into it”. What’s there to look? Login to your account online or call the frickin’ bank and ask them if they had cashed the check with such and such number and amount. It doesn’t take 3 weeks, it takes 3 minutes. 3 minutes, and you know whether you had a check cashed, or at least sent… Sounds like someone was shopping (again!) on my account this Thanksgiving. It was President’s Day before. I’m frightently awaiting Christmas… all leads to the fact that I’m gonna have another delayed check, another month with problems paying rent and another spoiled holiday when I wouldn’t be able to buy some gifts. Gee, why some people are so cheap? How much it REALLY costs to do a direct deposit?

Black Friday Savings

Okay, I was driven by Black Friday Savings madness enough to get my ass out of warm bed and take out of there my sleepy girlfriend and rush to Ceasar’s Bay plaza. I went to the huge lane to Best Buy, she went to newly opened Kohl’s. I spent about an hour standing in that stupid lane, however, got something in return - two SanDisk CompactFlash Ultra II 512MB cards for $50, 1GB Flash drive for around $100, almost got 160GB Western Digital harddrive for $180, but changed my mind at the last moment - and was right. There is (still) 160GB La Cie HDD for $119 on Buy.com

On the trip to Kohls I’ve got some sweaters, shirts and three jackets. Spent some $400, which is understandable for guy who goes clothing-shopping once every three years. My girlfriend has got herself cute jacket, she looks very beautiful in it, also some sweaters and stuff. All in all, seems like the madness paid off - we helped the country by spending some money and got ourselves pretty good deals on some stuff… Too bad I missed that $29.99 for 160GB hard drive deal…

ASP.NET data grid control needed

Stumbled upon the weird behavior of Microsoft’s built-in datagrid control for ASP.NET web pages… Looking for something better. Found two, that would suite my needs but as always there’s a catch. One is outrageously expensive, another one is cheap, but looks so. Will keep searching, at least for some time.
